Home Link Challenges

We would like to encourage all children in Early Years to bring into school; photographs or special objects linked to their families, special occasions, celebrations, days out etc. By bringing these into school, it will help us to encourage the development of your child’s speaking and listening skills as well as self-confidence and self-awareness as we would like your child to talk about the photographs and objects to small groups of their classmates. Photographs could be uploaded to tapestry for us to print off or feel free to send in printed versions.

We would also like to encourage your child’s reading development by asking for photographs of your child reading their favourite book or having it read to them. They could then also bring in their book which we can share at Storytime.

Over the course of the year, we will be sending home short Learning Link focuses. These will focus on core learning that your child needs to develop in order to help them become ready for the next stage of their education. The tasks will not just encourage curriculum areas (e.g. maths) but will also help develop our nine core values (curiosity, risk, aspiration, self-awareness, self-esteem, self-belief, life skills, resilience and perseverance). All the Home Link Challenges will be linked into the learning your child will be doing in class - such as supporting the Core Texts.
